Welcome to GT Cars repair service. We have vast experience in repairing BMW cars.

We repair cars for private customers, car sales and garages. Many of the major breakdown services that know us also recommended us to their customers. Having just taken on 2 more mechanics to keep up with our weekly tasks we can now do more than ever. Many big tasks, like timing chains, valve stem oil seal, turbochargers and back axles we can offer he same day service. We can do this as, we are very organized, all parts required will be in stock, the right equipment, the right tools, and highly qualified staff.

We can do the following much much more. Full diagnostics, change ECU, program ECU, code modules to cars, reset adaptation, timing chains on petrol engines, timing chains on diesel engine, engine rebuilds, engine overhauls, head gaskets on petrol engine, head gaskets on diesel engines, turbocharger on petrol engine, turbochargers on diesel engine, replace the bearing in BMW rear axles, replace injectors, replace glow plugs, clean and regenerate DPF on diesel cars and much much more. In fact, if you have a problem with your BMW then give us a try.

A bit of background of us and what we have done. Having done over 1,100 rear diffs, 700 N47 timing chains, 300 N47 turbochargers, 1,000's of services and numerous electrical faults makes us very qualified to service or repair your BMW.

You may ask why do I need a module update?

If a module has been replaced or lost some of it's functions a reprogram and coding of that module will more than likely restore it to fully working condition.

An couple of examples when a program and code helped customers.

EXAMPLE 1

A customer with a BMW 320I convertible E93 came to us with a no working roof. He purchased the car like this thinking it could be an easy fix as the fault a faulty roof latch sensor which is very common. He had this replaced and still no working roof.

Having been to several garages including BMW expert he still had a no working roof. Our name came up in one of his search online and he gave us a call. When speaking to him we absolutely guaranteed we can get the roof working 100%.

The car came to us and most important is to diagnosis. After a full scan there were no faults present . Then it was time a visual inspection and confirm the customers fault. We noticed the front windows didn't behave a they should. When the roof button is held in the open position all the window should go down. The rear window did but the front stayed where the were, The windows are controlled by the FRM (footwell module). When the roof button is depressed it communicates with the FRM module asking it to open the windows.

We found the problem and nothing wrong with the roof but in fact with the FRM module not opening the windows. We looked at the FRM module in greater detail. The part number and build date we found and whilst the part number was correct, the build date was after the car was manufactured. Conclusion it the FRM module has been replaced with a used one but had not been programmed and code to the car.

We the programmed and coded the FRM module to the car. After this the roof operation was restored and worked 100% as it should.

During the update your BMW will be on charges as a battery voltage of 13 volts must be maintained. With the ignition on you BMW will be checked every half an hour till the update is complete. Once complete we will than carry out a full diagnostic scan.

EXAMPLE 2

A BMW 320 diesel came to us running like an absolute pig. The customer had been to the garage that had been servicing his car but without any codes from the ECU they would not be able fix the car.

No warning lights on dashboard and no faults on the engine computer.

A brief look at the live data from the engine we found a DPF was blocked and the EGR valve not working. We asked yourself why no engine codes and the only reason we come up with is either a faulty ECU or it had been tampered with.

We carried out voltage test to some of the engine components to confirm that the ECU was at least supplying voltage and receiving signals from these. All voltage and signals were good.

We had a very close look at the software data written on the ECU and found it several places to be different from the original factory programming. We then re-flashed the ECU and corded to the car.

Once this has been done, the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree with so many false seemed a daunting task.

We had blocked DPF, non-functioning EGR valve, glow plug module not working and three glow plugs with open circuit. We tested all these components, replaced the EGR valve, glow plug module and a four glow plugs. With these replace the car round much better but just needed a DPF regeneration and clean.

What had been done and repair the fault, the faults had been disguised by re-writing software on the ECU so making it no display any fault codes or errors.

The full flash reprogram and coding we were able to get the faults and get the car back to full performance.

Too many garages reply on the diagnostic scanner, and without are lost. The diagnostic scanner should be considered a friend suggesting you to look at certain components.

Same day service

The a reprogram and coding can take up to 2 hours to complete.. It is best to get the car to us as early as possible on the day as once the reprogram and coding has begun the car cannot be started or moved.
