Frequently Asked Questions
- I need to some re-pointing on my patio which has Sandstone slaps and gap about 15mm gap for the mortar all round. Will these be good for his job?
- Thanks for the question. Yes these are definitely the discs for the job in hand. What you will find is, when you grind away the center section of you mortar and if you lucky the remaining mortar on both side will simply fall off. The mortar bits that don't fall off can easily be removed with a hammer and cold chisel. Once you have a gap between the mortar the job is 80% done. Hope this helps.
- I need to do some re-pointing at the front of my house's brickwork and have started to chop out the old mortar with a hammer and chisel. What a heart breaking and so so time consuming job. Would these be suitable for this job and what other tools would I need?
- Yes these are made exactly for that job and will be so much quicker. The tools you need are the discs obviously and a 115mm (4 1/2" inch) hand angle grinder. You would strongly advise you you wear some protective gear like safety goggles, set of ear muffs, pair of good work gloves, dust mask and a hard hat.
