This is new VW Volkswagen Beetle intake air pipe. It goes from the front of the filter housing the throttle body of the engine block. Will fit Beetle Hatchbacks from 1999 to 2010 and Convertibles from 2003 to 2011 with engine sizes of 1.6 and engine codes BSF and AYD. Part number is 1C0 129 684 BF and 1C0129684BF.

Fitting instructions

This fits from the front of the air filter housing to the throttle body. When fitting a new fit they are very stiff so use some rubber grease and heat the pipe opening in some hot water to make it more flexible.

They generally last no more than five years and after that need to be changed as they tend to either split or leak at the corrugated section. This leads to rough idling and uneven running as air fuel ratio will not be correct and will false codes that won't fix the problem. It is a mechanical fault that confuses the diagnostic system and will give false error codes.
