In 1924 Sidney Rustin opened his first shop in London's Shoreditch district where he sold wood finishing products to local residents and trades people.
Sidney's father was a cabinetmaker and his mother funded the business venture with ?50. During the second world war the first night raid destroyed the original 1932 factory and the business moved to its present location in Cricklewood, London.
Rustins also exports to more than 20 countries.
Rustins formulated its Strypit paint remover in 1947 and demand remains high. RUSTINS was the first manufacturer of Danish Oil which remains a famous and popular product.
Today Rustins continues its research and development efforts on its core markets of wood finishing, specialty paint and decorating. Description
Quick Drying Stain Blocker is water based matt white Stain Blocker for interior and exterior use.
With excellent adhesion to wood, plaster and previously painted surfaces.
It will seal all stains that may bleed through and discolour paint.
When dry, it can be painted with any type of paint and undercoat. Stain Blocker can be applied over asphalt, bitumen, crayon, creosote, graffiti, nicotine, rust, soot, tannin and water stains.
Clean brushes in water.
How to Use, Specification and Saftey Information
Product: Stain Block
Type: Formulated with a water-based acrylic emulsion and stain inhibiting pigment to provide excellent stain-blocking properties.
Intended Use: As a stain blocker over a wide variety of surfaces. For interior and exterior use.
Special Features: Low odour, quick-drying, excellent hiding properties. Wash brushes in water.
Preparation: Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from any grease or wax. Remove any unsound paint before applying stainblocker.
Application: Stir well before use. Apply liberally and evenly with a synthetic brush or roller.
Coats: One coat is recommended but a second coat can be applied if staining is severe.
Drying: Time Touch dry in 30 minutes typically, depending on temperature and humidity.
Re-coating: Time Re-coat after 2 hours if necessary.
Application Temp: Ideally 15-25 degree C, do not use below 10 degree C or in conditions of high humidity.
Coverage: Approximately 12sq.metres/litre per coat, depending on absorbency of surface.
Compatibility: All types of paint and undercoat can be applied over this product.
Settlement: Stir well before use and ensure all sediment is mixed in.
Shelf-life/Storage: Many years if stored in the original tightly closed container in a cool dry
Hazards: Non-flammable. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. In cases of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention. After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of soap and water or a proprietry skin cleanser. Use only in well ventilated areas. Keep out of reach of children. Do not empty into drains or watercourses. A Full Safety Data Sheet is available upon request.
Clean-Up: With water whilst wet. If dried-on, clean equipment and brushes with either Rustins Brush Restorer or Cellulose Thinners.
