High quality, accurately adjusting joiner, for cutting various sized pockets. Strong aluminium fence angle range 0-135. Includes dust bag. Compatible with biscuits size 0, 10 and 20.
Before Use
The Guard (6) needs to be attached to the Adjustable Angle Guide (5) prior to use. The adjustable guide needs to be set in the 90degrees position for an easier assembly. Slide the guard onto the guide with the plastic locating arms positioned over the top and the plastic face being located underneath. The face has two locating tabs which align the guard into the correct position.
Prior to use the machine needs to be connected to either a vacuum cleaner or a dust extraction system via the Dust Extraction Port (9). If both are unavailable, the Dust Bag (10) which is supplied needs to be connected.
Operating Instructions
Before you startwork, practice on scrap material to establish that the machine achieves an accurate joint, and if necessary adjust accordingly. WARNING: Always ensure that the machine is disconnected from the mains power supply before performing any adjustment.
Adjusting the Plunging Depth
Prior to making a cut, rotate the Depth Selector (14), to set the required plunge depth. Failure to do this could cause damage to the workpiece
Although the depth selector can be used to judge changes in depth setting, the recommended method is to make a trial cut on scrap material
Fine Adjustment
Fine adjustment of the plunge depth can be made using the Depth Adjustment Knob (15). One full rotation clockwise will result in a 1mm reduction in plunge depth
Adjusting the Angle of the Guide
Prior to operation the Adjustable Angle Guide (5) needs setting to the required angle.
Adjust the angle by loosening the Angle Locking Knob (8) and slide the Angle Scale (7) into the correct position. The scale ranges between 0degrees-135degrees.
Once the angle has been selected it is crucial to tighten the Angle Locking Knob (8) before use, failure to do so could result in damage to workpiece or machine.
Cutting Height.
The cutting height can be adjusted from 0 30mm and can be set with reference to the Height Scale (13).
To adjust cutting height:
1. Release the Height Adjustment Lock (12),
2. Rotate the Height Adjustment Knob (11) clockwise to raise the Angle
Guide (5) and therefore lower the cutting height,
3. Rotate the Height Adjustment Knob (11) anti-clockwise to lower the Angle Guide (5) and therefore reduce the cutting height. Tighten the Height Adjustment Lock (12) to lock the Angle Guide (5) at height required.
Handling your Joiner
Always hold the joiner securely, using both hands, by the Rear Handle (1) and the Front Handle (2).The adjustable guide needs to be placed completely flat against the surface of the workpiece
Ensure the workpiece does not move whilst being cut. Use clamps where necessary.
Always allow the cutter to come to a complete stop before placing the machine down, and unplug if it is to be left unattended.
This machine is equipped with Dust Extraction Port (9) which ejects material to the right hand side
Making a Cut
Hold the joiner securely, using both hands, and rest the Adjustable Angle Guide (5) on the workpiece.
Ensure that the blade is not in contact with the workpiece, or any other object.
Start the machine by holding down the Lock-Off Button (4), and squeeze the On/Off Trigger Switch (3).
Allow the motor to reach full speed before pushing the blade into the workpiece.
Slowly push the joiner into the workpiece by applying forward pressure to the Rear Handle (1).
Maintain a steady movement, and ensure that the Adjustable Angle Guide (5) is continually pressed against the work.
Once the cutter has reached the set depth it should be removed from the workpiece. Slowly release pressure from the rear handle until the blade is clear, then release the On/Off Trigger Switch (3).
Do not place the machine down until the blade has stopped completely.
